We go from feast to famine this week, with all three senior mens teams playing away from home, whilst the women’s team have a rest week in their schedule. The Boys U18 Highland Eagles team are also away from home.
The 1st XV head south, where else, to Hartree Mill, to take on Biggar RFC who seem to be having a Jekyll & Hyde season so far. The 1st XV will once again look to back up a decisive home win with a win on the road, at the same time as trying to improve their record on the Lanarkshire side’s ground. Our lads will take confidence from the way they dispatched GHK last Saturday, putting a full stop on the performance by scoring with the last play of the game to rack up 50 pts on the scoreboard. The KO at Biggar is at 3pm.
The Raptors (Mens 2xv) are keen to get back on the field after the cancellation of last weekends game against Ellon Rugby. A game that was already a rescheduled fixture from the postponement of our opening day game.
They hit the road, and head north to play Caithness at Millbank Rugby Pitch, Thurso, KO is scheduled for 3pm.
Highland will be looking to maintain the form that saw them secure a comeback win over RAF Lassiemouth the Saturday before last.
While Caithness will be looking to put in a better performance this week after losing at home to Kinross Owls RUFC at the weekend.
The Sea Eagles (Mens 3XV) had a sensational comeback win against Stornoway at the weekend. Coming from 18 points down with 15 minutes to go to score a try in the last minute, and land the conversion to win 35-36 at Bayhead, Stornoway.
This week, they are away again to Inverness Craig Dunain. Given Craig’s difficulties in securing a permanent playing home in Inverness, the tie will be hosted at Ross Sutherland RFC, Naval Grounds, Invergorden. Once again the kick off will be 3pm.
Finally whilst the Boys U18 1st XV are not playing this weekend, the Boys U18 Highland Eagles do. They are away to Angus Colts in a Boys U18 Caledonia Club League B tie. I am unclear of where the venue is for this match, so I’ve said it yet to be determined. I expect it will be either Carnoustie or Montrose. I’ll update this post as soon as I find out. The KO will be at 1pm.
