National Shield (Womens’)

In a very competitive game there was a bit of too and fro on the score board.

Highland went down to an unconverted try after about 25 min, but came back with two of their own through Susanna MacDonald & Caitlin Holland, Caitlin also converting her own try to take Highland into the lead – briefly.

Hill Jill’s levelled the score at 12-12 almost immediately after the Highland’s 2nd score.

Highland threatened on several occasions but Hill Jills weathered the storm and came though with some excellent rugby to win the game, scoring their final try right at the end of game time, with the conversion being the last act of the game.

Highland should be proud of themselves they really stuck to the task and applied themselves.

Coach Brian Crush said after the match,

“This is another game under the belt, and it adds more experience which is vital for the development of this fantastic squad of players.”

Highland’s Caitlin Holland was voted the best Highland Player by both her own team mates and Hillhead Jordanhill.

Highland in turn voted Hill Jills impressive no 8 Zelda Dura as their Player of the Match.
