Raptors take the field v Ross Sutherland after long layoff

Aberdeen Grammars decision to withdraw their 2nd XV from the league mean it’s  been more than a month since the Raptors last game. 

Their last game was a stuffy affair, in which the Raptors eventually secured a 24-29 win in Aberdeen against North Police Scotland on the 4th March. 

Blair Lockwood (Coach) has said, “Since that game training for the Raptors squad training has been a bit disrupted. This has largely been due to players either recovering from injuries themselves, or with squad members taking up slots our other teams as needed”.

Blair went on “Things have improved lately with players coming back into the squad having completed their rehab, having done their bit helping out our other teams”.

The Raptors lost to Ross Sutherland up in Invergordon back on the 8th October, going down by 20-19. 

A game which Blair suggested was won and lost in the heads of the players. 

He continued “Highlands heads went down a bit as attacks were blunted by a Ross Sutherland side who were really pumped up for the derby game. Needless to say as Highland heads dropped, the Ross players drew extra strength in the game holding out for the win”. 

“We’ll be reminding our squad that we can’t become frustrated in that way again. We need to have patience, and just trust ourselves, the game plan, and our processes to deliver the result that we want”.
