Highland’s mission is One Club, One Family, One Community, One Goal. This can apply to the wider rugby community, but we like to think it really is more than just words in the Caledonia region.
Many of our older playing members will recall taking the field against Donnie Graham in our on-field battles with Stornoway RFC over many years. Our head coach, Davie Carson, worked with Donnie at SSE and counted him as both a colleague, friend, as well as a tough opponent.
Diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) in August 2023, just six months after retiring from a 37-year career as an SSE overhead linesman, Donnie remains a stalwart of Stornoway Rugby Club, cheering on the team at home games.
MND is a cruel, degenerative condition affecting speech, mobility, and relationships. Currently, 450 people in Scotland live with MND. Stornoway RFC are fundraising for MND Scotland to spread awareness and support their vital work.
🗣️Maybe you could venture to the Western Isles for a charity match organized with SSE to raise funds for MND Scotland.
📣 But if you can’t do that you can help by making a donation though the events Just Giving page,

Let’s come together as one community to support this amazing cause. Together we can make a difference
